About Us

In 1980 Susan and Dennis Musil saw an Irish Setter at the Humane Society and they fell in love with her. What they didn't realize at the time was that that would be the start of a lifelong passion for the beautiful redheads. "Lady" (Lady Lou of Lunn) was to start the Lunn's kennel name.

Although Lady was a field dog, not a show dog, she had a wonderful disposition, very sweet and laid-back, and the Musil family very much wanted a puppy from her. She was bred to the #1 show Irish Setter of the late 70's (Am/Can Ch. Donoval's Crimson Crown, aka "Big Mac"). The breeding produced three beautiful puppies. Susan and Dennis kept a female whom they called Brandy. Their daughter Krista began showing Brandy in Juniors at age 11. Brandy went on to become Lunn's Kennel's first champion.

Since Brandy's first breeding, Lunn's Kennels has bred 16 litters producing many show, field, obedience and agility champions. Although we love seeing our dogs compete and win, nothing makes us happier than seeing our pups become much loved family members whose only competitive event may be a race to see who gets to the back door first. :-)
